Though I’ll admit that I’m not a sports fan in a town that has been absolutely crazed over them for decades, I’m a sucker for good causes. That’s why I’m personally encouraging all football fans (and other Philadelphia team sports enthusiasts) to attend the 10th Annual Eagles Carnival at Lincoln Financial Field.

The not-to-be-missed yearly event features food, carnival games, prizes and a silent auction.

What’s the beneficiary of the fundraiser? It’s the Eagles Youth Partnership, a non-profit agency that supports the betterment of local kids’ health and education.

The major activities of the afternoon will include a goal kick at the field, a tour of the locker room, a visit to the coach’s classroom and Super Bowl games.

Many athletes are supporters of numerous community causes and charities. The Eagles are dedicated enough to this cause that organizers promise that “every Eagles player will be in attendance and will either be stationed at an autograph booth, photo booth, game or sponsors’ area.”

That fact alone might motivate the greatest Eagles fans to show up. But, wait, there’s even more.

Highlights of this year’s event will include an impressive silent auction featuring more than 80 sports memorabilia items, many of them autographed, by Eagles players and other NFL team members. It’s really your chance to acquire a genuine collectible, a one-of-a-kind item.

By afternoon’s end, 10 more lucky guests will have won 10 autographed football jerseys, literally peeled off the backs of some of the team’s most popular players. A little exposed muscular male flesh, even momentarily, could be a certain sports enthusiast dream come true, right? Hey, remember, that it’s all for charity!
