John Bolaris eat your heart out; there’s a new Twitter war in town and this time it’s between sports writers Les Bown and Jeff McLane. The cat fight started when Bowen claimed that Vick would be returning to the field this past week after his hand injury. McLane, who apparently disagreed, responded to Bowen’s subtle disdain by proceeding to shut the man down… HARD.
“@LesBowen: Oh, and BTW, nobody has any idea on Tuesday whether Michael Vick is starting this week. It was Obvious Monday Andy thinks/hopes he will.”
@Jeff_McLane: @LesBowen Right. I made it up. How about if Vick starts Sunday you have to say on Daily News Live, “I’m an old hack that hasn’t broken a story in years, needs my editor to keep my blog fresh, and missed Vick on Monday because I was cluelessly tapping away on my computer and had to steal quotes from hard-working reporters who have a clue.”
Isn’t that more than 140 characters? Anyway, if you know how Twitter works (I still don’t), you already know that this only set the stage for an eventual physical altercation (see Ray J and Fabolous’ recent spat) confirmed by none other than the loathsome Howard Eskin. And that’s when things get a little too deep for us, so we’ll let Taiwan News Animation take it from here.
