It’s lady’s month over at Highwire Gallery. Lisa Spera is on board with her latest camera work in Abstract Reality. Now, the work is just what the title states, and yet there is no Photoshop business here. Instead, they are distressed pictures that transcend themselves to become Speragraphs, with grand sections of color coursing through these strange images. This is My Wonder, This is My Visible Man finds Lydia Hamilton working her inimitable magic in every which way. Let’s see, okay, she got art books and paintings and an installation, and more to boot. This is one artist whose work takes on aspects of history both personal and beyond. These two shows tell it like it is.
