Highwire Gallery features two complementary shows that cover all elements and aspects of our biosphere and its place in the universe. Mud in Your Eye: New Work about Mud and Moon,Sun and Space features the latest work by original Highwire member Peter Kinney. Mud’s work was inspired by travels through the American West and beyond, and recalls the colors and shapes of canyons. Invited guest Leslie Kaufman brings her Ecological Disturbances. Though bearing an ominous title, these disturbances are instead a nod toward positive mutation, as this grand sculpture is given birth through tools and ideas and ideals and thus molded into shape rather than carved. The spiritual heft here is steeped in geologic time.
