Good Mexican food in Philadelphia? It’s true, and leave it to Stephen Starr to bring it to us. With it’s kitsch, swagger and stand out food, El Vez is a great place to grab a margarita and overpriced guacamole. (At $12, it is possibly the most overpriced item in the city. The last time I checked it was still made from avocados.) But that being said, it’s good and I order it every time. Also a great place to bring a party of guests, especially some out of towners. Definitely go for the oversized plush booth where you feel like a king. It’s also good fun to step into the photo booth and embarrass yourself for four shots of kissing each other on the cheek and making ridiculous faces.
