A 15-minute break isn’t nearly enough time to explore the Kimmel Center’s Intermission Gift Shop, an elegant ode to all things performing arts. It’s a treasure trove for tourists collecting city memorabilia and gift givers trying to impress their cultured cohorts. Of course, there’s plenty of Kimmel Center kitsch like logo coffee mugs and Peter Nero tote bags but gifts like a crumpled sheet music paperweight, the Mozart French marionette, and a Shakespeare pillow created in the Bard’s likeness are offbeat conversation pieces that will have you talking all the way back to your seats for Act 2- if you don’t miss it.
