Dining is now an elevated art form – literally – nineteen lofty floors above the city streets at XIX, the spectacular twin-domed dining operation located on the topmost story of the Park Hyatt Philadelphia at the Bellevue.
Tens of millions of dollars went into the renovation of XIX, Philadelphia’s highest a la carte restaurant, transforming the former Grande Dame setting (and its adjoining Library Lounge), into shimmering duel rotundas, each boasting a 19-foot Italian chandelier, dripping strands of pearls downward into each warm and open Faberge egg-like space.
An American café serves light fare from early on until late night; the bar features three darkly handsome alcoves in which to melt into and relax; the full-service restaurant, featuring executive chef Richard Hebben’s sea-inspired menu, has a circular, pearl-encrusted raw bar which looks out over soaring vistas.
There’s also a 600-bottle wine room to sip and sup in with smaller parties, and an outdoor terrace for when the weather is temperate. It all adds up to the city’s most talked-about hotel dining establishment, located high in the sky.
Open daily from 6:30am – 11pm; XIX, Broad and Walnut Streets, 215.893.1234
