10th Annual Chefs & Clefs Jazz Feast

10th Annual Chefs & Clefs Jazz Feast
The finest chefs from the Delaware Valley dish out their culinary masterpieces for the 2006 Chefs & Clefs Jazz Feast to benefit the National Kidney Foundation of the Delaware Valley at the Ritz-Carlton Philadelphia, November 29, 6pm – 9pm. Philadelphia’s premier fall food event features an array of cuisine and beverages from microbreweries and wine purveyors. This year’s participants include Brasserie Perrier, SoleFood, Ristorante Panorama, Deuce Restaurant & Bar and more. Enjoy live jazz from Karen Wilhelm. All proceeds benefit NKFDV, an organization that supports kidney disease and transplant patients through research, patient support groups education programs and more. Tickets are $65 in advance and $75 at the door. Visit www.nkfdv.org

Choosical
Musical masterminds like Rodgers and Hammerstein would have never left the success of their beloved stage productions up to the cast to decide. Freefall Productions takes the challenge with its improved, full-length musical, Choosical, at 2111 Sansom Street, November 30 – December 17. Back for a second year from its first sold-out run, the Choosical ensemble puts on a different production every night from start to finish with enough singing and dancing to rival Oklahoma. Grupo Saveiro
A hot night and a cool cocktail in Rio de Janeiro sound pretty good right about now as winter temps head into Philly. But settling for the next best thing (mojitos at Cuba Libre?) isn’t nearly as bad when Brazilian-born musicians, Brooklyn-based Grupo Saveiro perform their high-energy cocktail of samba for the Friday night Art After 5 crowd at the Art Museum, December 1, from 5:45pm – 6:45pm and 7:15pm – 8:15pm. As Gloria Estefan once said, the rhythm is going to get you. Visit www.philamuseum.org

Shake & Shiver
Lend a hand to aspiring Courtney Love’s everywhere at Girls Rock Philly’s Shake & Shiver at South Philly’s The Parlour, December 2, 8pm. Bundle up for winter-themed dance party featuring DJ mixes by the Girls DJ Collective, experimental film and video screenings from Small Change Collective, raffles, refreshments and a holiday photo booth. The donations-only cover benefits Girls Rock Philly, a non-profit working to establish Philly’s only rock camp for girls. Visit www.girlsrockphilly.org

4th Annual Vodka & Latke Bash
The pre-Hannukah festivities begin far from home and, hopefully, with a designated driver in tow. The Mansion at Rittenhouse hosts the 4th Annual Vodka & Latke Bash, December 2, 9pm – midnight. Don’t think you’re the only young Jewish professional who’s fond of this famous pairing – more than 250 people attended last year’s gathering. The cover – $10 on the Collaborative’s guest list and $15 at the door – includes one drink ticket, complimentary latkes and drink specials. Visit www.thecollaborative.org
