You’ve got another Small Works show at Rosenfeld Gallery with 27 artists on view. Sandra Milner features silhouettes that are shadowy and misshapen; each is placed in a different field of color that suggests ash. Abstraction confluent with a cityscape of many shapes and shades makes Thamer Dawood’s work its own reward. The metropolis in question is his hometown, Baghdad. Grand fields of pastel hues are overlaid with what could pass for blossoms in Diane’s Pieri’s world. Each color is tender and tensile. Antonio Puri layers spheres on spheres. They pass as grand orbs in another solar system and also objects that come into sight beneath a microscope lens. Talk about a doozey!
