If you were near G the first Saturday in February, around midnight, you would have been blind not to notice the line that wrapped around the corner. Having a line outside an establishment in Philly is usually rare, barring concert venues. Having a line of people outside well past 1 am is absolutely unheard of, especially in a city where most bars close at 2 am.
Some 200 people huddled outside of G around midnight, while inside was packed with another 400 attendees. Up until this night, most had never heard of the marketing company behind the event, but with Benji Madde
n already in the middle of one of his DJ sets and Lance Bass, Cheryl Burke and two Playboy centerfolds already partying inside, the 900 something people who went through G’s doors that night were already fans of Trckd Republic.
Todd Rodeghiero was the man behind that sold-out evening at G, the founder of Trckd Republic, a brand marketing business that incorporates high level artists and entertainment. As the owner of Greenstar Media Labs, Rodeghiero took his digital media and events background, packed up his things after two years consulting for DigPhilly.com and started Trckd, a concept he had been dreaming up for some time. With Trckd, Rodeghiero is able to place products and brands in front of consumers through a marketing vehicle they enjoy and, unlike club promoters, they will be working mostly with major artists and custom-tailor events for each sponsor. Rodeghiero and Trckd aren’t concerned with throwing the most events in Philly. They aren’t concerned with weekly happy hours or half-priced appetizers. They want to do events that go out full speed and
flawlessly and that constantly over deliver for the brands and audiences involved.
Trckd Republic will be on the scene again soon, as the official brand launch will be later this year. Rodeghiero has some plans in the works and is working to match artists and venues. Right now he is energized about a top-secret "big artist" possibility for one of the 2009 events, and the possibility of bringing in some acoustic-set nights to match a certain brand to an audience. Look for about a handful of events the rest of this year from Trckd in Philly, A.C. and possibly Las Vegas. While we can’t guarantee you won’t have to wait in line, we can get you reduced admission and your name on future guest lists.
