An older gentleman peddles his way through the flowery fields of the Alps on an antique bike complete with wicker basket. This is how St. Germain starts–no joke. The sweet honey-like liqueur is made from hand-picked (see: old man) elderflowers from the foothills of the Alps. The taste is something refreshing and summery – like flower water with a subtle lemon kick. It’s okay if you’ve never heard of it; it’s only about a year old.
For those privy enough to know about it (I own two bottles myself, for al fresco sipping in my backyard come 5:30pm), below area few recipes to broaden your St. Germain-On-The-Rocks horizons.
