Our economy is in shambles, our public school system is as credible a poorly-researched Wikipedia article and our biggest concern is… the controversy behind American Idol?
Well, quite frankly, yes.
After devoting hours, nay, days, to our AI-fueled obsession, it’s quite disheartening to find that our votes may have been ignored. We, along with millions of others, watched in disbelief as Kris (face: 10, talent: 6) beat the expected frontrunner, Adam, in the final round of the competition.
We’re not sure who’s to blame here… the NY Daily News blames power texting, The View focuses on keywords that will ensure top hits on Google (homosexuality, religion) in hopes of improving ratings, and Adam himself claims it’s all in the spirit of competition.
We A) don’t think Kris should have won and B) Don’t believe Adam when he claims the vote was fair, especially because he refers to himself as being "supposedly gay." Supposedly?
Come on people, wasn’t the Sanjaya stunt enough? Or the miscount in presidential votes that led to a four-year shit show in Washington? In the words of David after dentist, is this real life?
We like this guy’s assessment.
