An Affordable Find

You walk by that expensive store window on Jewelers Row, pause, and keep walking. This time, stop and go inside. Jaime Silverstein’s jewelry, j.magnolia, is all the glitz without a price tag to drag you to your grave.

While attending George Washington University, Silverstein knew she could create beautiful pieces for less than available at all the high-end boutiques she frequented. Her precious and semi-precious pieces are popular for brides and bridal parties and incorporate silver and unique metals. “When I was in college, I loved jewelry but I wasn’t a fan of the designer prices,” said Silverstein.

With custom gemstone earrings under $100 and necklaces ranging from $115 to $200, what’s not to love? Our favorite of Silverstein’s designs is the multi-color gemstone and Swarovski Crystal necklace. This piece features multi-toned Swarovski crystals, smoky quartz, citrine, jasper and other gems, just to name a few. The earth-tone colors are eclectic enough for work yet can be paired with your favorite black dress for a night out.

If you need something for your bridesmaids to wear on your special day, Silverstein’s earrings add the perfect extra-touch. The “Three Flavors” collection isn’t overwhelming in style or price, with green amethyst, smokey quartz and clear quartz dangling from sterling silver clasps. The Three Flavor earrings are available for $89, a steal for a quality hand-made piece.
