A Strangefruit in Philly

Kristin Haskins Simms is the Philadelphia designer behind Strangefruit, a fashion line based off of a look that has been worn by women throughout the ages. Simms describes the line as “timeless with a modern twist to historic fashion," a perfect line for Philadelphia. The Fall 2009 Regal Warrior collection features pieces that could have been worn by any generation, but appropriately fit into our modern world, while still being noticeably peerless. Our favorite choice is the Tulip Skirt, a high-wasted, long skirt with an unusual shape that can lend itself to elegance or casual depending on the chosen accessories. See Strangefruit first-hand at their trunk show on September 19 from 7 – 9pm at 1520 Kater St.
