Valentine’s Day Specials

No matter what your date, style or price range, we’ve got the scoop on what Philly’s kitchens will be preparing this Valentine’s Day. We’ve done our job, now all that’s up to you is finding a date and making the reservations.


Style: Home-style/American
At Meme, chef David Katz is offering diners a four-course menu for $60 featuring oysters, caviar, truffles, chocolate, figs and a glass of champagne. For reservations, call 215.735.4900.

Another fine choice is Noble American Cookery. Chef Brinn Sinnott has created a $55 four-course menu including items such as Market Oysters with Green Apple and Celery Mignonette; and Slow Cooked Arctic Char with Passion fruit Nage, Carrots, Mushrooms and Arugula. Reservations are being accepted from 5 until 9pm.

London Grill is offering a Valentine’s Day Brunch for $22.22 or a Valentine’s Day Dinner for $50. Brunch will be served from 11am-3pm and will feature a special "Make Your Own" Bloody Mary Bar. For dinner, a four-course menu will be offered. Reservations are being accepted from 4:30 until 9:30pm.

Supper will be offering a brunch menu from 11am until 2:30 pm. Guests dining in their pajamas will receive a free mimosa and complimentary banana beignets. For dinner, a $68 Lover’s Prix Fixe four-course menu will be offered Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Dishes will include: Wellfleet Oyster with House-Made Barbecue Sauce, Horseradish and Lemon; Saffron-Scented Israeli Cous Cous with Roasted Cauliflower, Mint, Chilies and Sheep’s Milk Feta; Butter-Poached Maine Lobster with Sweet Potatoes Lyonnais and Blood Orange Vinaigrette; Pan-Roasted New York Strip Loin with Pickled Beets, Parsnip Puree and Brussel Sprout Leaves; and for dessert, Dark Chocolate Pudding with Fresh Raspberries and Salted Butter Cookies. Reservations are being accepted from 5 until 9pm.

Fork is offering a $70 3-course meal for Valentine’s Day. Selections will include House Smoked Salmon Carpaccio with American Sturgeon Caviar, Local Winter Radishes and Citrus Vinaigrette; Crispy Lamb Confit with Glazed Purple Carrots, Roasted Garlic and Black Olive-Infused Oil; Whole Maine Lobster with Butternut Squash Ravioli, Rosemary Jus and Toasted Pumpkin Seeds; and Filet Mignon and Kobe Beef Short Rib with Cippolini Onions, Carrot Puree and Pistachios. Reservations are being accepted from 5 until 10:30pm
 

Style: Seafood
Phillips Seafood is offering a three-course dinner for $45. Menu highlights include lobster bisque, a clambake for two with two lobsters, king crab, mussels, clams, shrimp, potatoes and corn on the cob, grilled filet mignon and mojito grilled shrimp, and for dessert, a chocolate box filled with layers of chocolate cake topped with strawberries. Philadelphia’s Oyster House is offering guests a special $55 four-course menu. Dishes will include Roasted Oysters with Crème Fraiche and Caviar; Truffle Crusted Seared Scallop with Celery Root Puree; and Split Grilled Lobster with Herbed Butter. Reservations are being accepted for February 12th and 13th until 1pm, but will be closed on February 14th.

At Blackfish Seafood Restaurant, chef Chip Roman will prepare his Five Course Valentine’s Menu. Meal options include house smoked loch-duart salmon, oysters, and hamachi. Dine from 3-5pm for $55 or from 5:30 – 11pm for $85, on either February 13th or 14th. Call 610-397-0888 for reservations.

Style: Spanish
Verdad Restaurant & Tequila Bar is offering a four-course menu for $90 per couple. Some highlights from the menu are butter-poached lobster tail, skewered diver scallops, Gianonne chicken breast, a rack of lamb, and a duck breast. In addition, chef Farina is rolling out his new winter menu featuring Beef Marrow: parsley caper salad, roasted bone marrow and garlic croute $8; Carnitas: fire roasted corn tortilla, spicy pulled pork, jicama, pomegranate $10; Little Neck Clams: orange, chipotle $10;Grouper: clams, garlic, parsley $14; Lamb Paella: lamb shank, asparagus, spinach, cherry tomato, crimini $42; And Black Sea Bass: whole, salt roasted. Reservations are for February 13th -14th beginning at 5pm. Call 610.520.9100 for reservations.

For Bar Ferdinand’s Valentine’s Day brunch special, chef Michael Thomas has created a special $30 menu being served from 11am until 3pm. Choices will include Potato Galette with Osetra Caviar and Saffron Crème Fraiche; Dave’s Famous French Toast stuffed with Blueberry and Citrus Curd; Goat Cheese Crepes with Apple and Pear Compote, Toasted Walnuts and Local Organic Honey; and House Made Biscuits and Chorizo Gravy with a Fried Egg. Bar Ferdinand will also serve a $65 and $75 menu option during dinner service. Some of the special dishes will include: Acorn Squash and Pine Nut Soup; Endive Salad with Cabrales Cheese, Hazelnuts and Sherry Vinaigrette; Spanish Flatbread with Braised Pork, Clams and Frisee; Spicy Potato Cake with Osetra Caviar and Saffron Crème Fraiche; Serrano Ham Wrapped Filet Mignon with Truffle Smashed Potatoes, Foie Gras Butter and Sherry Gastrique; and for dessert a choice of Chocolate, Banana and Pistachio Baklava or Lemon Meringue Pie with Raspberry Coulis. Guests will also enjoy live Flamenco Performances. Reservations are being accepted from 5 until 10pm.
 

Style: French
At Bistro St Tropez and Patou, chef Patrice Rames will offer a four course Valentine’s dinner menu for $45 on February 13th and 14th. In addition, there will be a three course Valentine’s brunch for $25 at Bistro St Tropez on Sunday, February 14th. Both menus feature cuisine from the coast of the French Riviera! In addition, Bistrot La Minette is offering Valentine’s Day specials all weekend. Diners can enjoy the regular menu with incredible specials and the most tempting dishes prepared by chef Peter Woolsey. For reservations, call 215.925.8000.
 

Style: Italian
At Table 31, chef Chris Scarduzio will offer a Valentine’s Day menu Friday through Sunday. Selections will include Grilled Langostines Oreganato with Sautéed Radicchio and Lemon Dressing; Homemade Cavatelli with Pancetta and Sundried Tomato Butter; Whole Roasted Branzino with Brown Butter, Capers, Tomatoes, Lemon and Herbs; 14 oz. Veal Chop stuffed with Fontina Cheese and Broccoli Rabe, wrapped with Prosciutto; and Domestic Rack of Lamb with Cannellini Beans, Escarole, Pancella and a Lemon Thyme Jus. Reservations are being accepted for Friday and Saturday from 5 until 11pm and Sunday from 5 until 9:30pm.

Avalon Restaurant has planned a Valentine’s Day Weekend full of events. On February 12, chef/owner John Brandt-Lee will offer a "Sweetheart Dinner" with live music. The meal includes a complimentary craft beer and artisanal cheese course, plus antipasti platter for two, pasta course, fish or meat dish, and dessert for $50 per person, plus tax and gratuity. The “Sweetheart Dinner” special will continue the following day. On February 14, In addition to offering the “Sweetheart Dinner,” Avalon will also offer a three-course Valentine’s Day Brunch special from noon to 4pm with menu options including antipasti, entrée and dessert, as well as a complimentary "Create your own Bloody Mary’s” bar. The brunch menu is available for $35 per person. On February 15, Avalon will host a very special Valentine’s celebration for people "In the Biz." Bring a pay stub or business card with ID to get the 4-course, prix fixe Sweetheart Dinner for the reduced price of $35 per person.

Another option is to celebrate Valentine’s Day on February 11th with a dinner for two, a long-stemmed red rose and an evening of captivating jazz at the Annenberg Center! Guests will enjoy a special three-course prix-fixe menu at Penne Restaurant & Wine Bar followed by an intimate performance by Dee Dee Bridgewater. All lovebirds will be automatically entered to win a signed copy of Bridgewater’s latest album, a bottle of champagne and two tickets to an upcoming production of Romeo and Juliet. Tickets may be purchased for $50 per person by calling 215-898-3900.
 

Style: Asian/Latin
At Chifa, chef Garces is offering a $55, $65 or $75 menu. Items will include Hiramasa Ceviche with Ginger, Charred Pineapple, Orange and Mustard Emulsion; Pork Belly Buns with Hoisin Glaze, Pickled Daikon and Carrot, Togarashi Mayo; Lobster Noodle Bowl with Rocoto Cream, Bacon, Parmesan and Green Peas; and a Rack of Lamb with Spicy BBQ Sauce, Ginger Quinoa and Pickled Cucumber. Reservations are available from 5 until 11pm.
 

Style: Middle Eastern/Iraqi
At Zahav’s, chef Michael Solomonov has created a Mesibah Menu for $100 per couple on Valentine’s Day. Some of the dishes will include Hummus-Tehina with House-Baked Laffa; a Selection of Mezze; Duck Breast Al Ha’Esh with Rose Petals and Duck Confit; and for dessert, Chocolate Konafi with Salted Chocolate Caramel. Reservations are being accepted from 5 until 10pm.
