UPenn Grads Solve Water Crisis (…Kinda)

Most of us can’t spell entrepreneur without a spell check, never mind actually owning up to that title. But 2009 Wharton graduates Aakash Mathur and Jay Parekh were saving the earth, starting a business and marketing a product before the ink on their diplomas was even dry. Mathur and Pareky describe themselves as “social entrepreneurs” who set out to create a product to help the global water crisis and reduce all those plastic water bottles you see lining the Schuylkill. Their Hydros water bottle has a built-in filter and the donations from its sales provides 2000 gallons of fresh water in developing countries. Kind of makes your thesis paper look a little weak, huh?
