Oh, social networking sites. What would we do without you and your ability to fulfill our incessant need to know everyone’s business? Foursquare, the latest in prying technology, allows users to find where their friends are and to let them know where you are (and all of that other stuff about collecting “badges” and whatnot). Avoidr, the latest social media app, is a plugin for Foursquare accounts. But, Avoidr has a much more useful application: it tells you where the people you don’t like are, the perfect way to steer clear of that awkward encounter with the evil ex-boyfriend or the jerk co-worker. After logging in, you choose from a list of (refined) adjectives to describe your target, click ‘Avoid,’ and voila! Now, it’s easy to decide not to go to the bar around the corner, because douchelord Brent is there. Thank you, Avoidr, for saving Philadelphians, one hostile run-in at a time!
