Nevermind that you haven’t watched Maury since your last high school sick day- the talk show host now has the official Aroundphilly seal of approval. Philly.com reports that Mr. Connie Chung recently gave the University of Pennsylvania 1 million dollars to establish the Povich Fund for Journalism. But the best part about this story came after Povich was asked about the scholarship, “It took a lot of paternity tests to make this gift.”
Maury graduated from U Penn in 1962 and majored in Combative Teen Psychology (ok, maybe he didn’t) and he and his wife, Connie Chung, have given to Penn before in support of journalism. No word yet on if potential scholarship recipients will be required to throw chairs at each other national TV to win the award.
