National Geographic just named Philadelphia one of the best hiking cities in America! Take that middle of nowhere! The article focuses on the 1,800-acre Wissahickon Creek area of Fairmount Park. The park is widely known for its rustic trails, bridges and swimming holes that all lead to the beautiful Philly oasis that is Devil’s Pool.
For those of you who aren’t daring enough to cliff jump into Devil’s Pool, there are plenty of rope swings (wuss) and other swimming locations where you won’t hurt your pretty little feet. Just make sure after you’re done swimming you head to Mom Rinker’s Rock for the best outlook in entire park.
