Local School Bans Ugg Boots Due To Hidden Dangers

In an effort to further limit student contact with the outside world, Pottstown Middle School has banned the one thing standing between latent cell phone use and purposeful confiscation: Ugg boots.

According to district community relations director John Armato, students are using the laceless, sheepskin-lined tools of concealment to smuggle contraband into class. Though current policy does allow students to bring their cell phones to school, they’re limited to stowing said items in their locker while class in session.

So basically, here’s the plan: you can have this exciting and potentially limitless toy–but you can only use it during the 4-minute breaks between classes, which is when you get to talk to your friends and aren’t being forced to explore intricacies of the Pythagorean theorem. Sounds iron-clad and completely devoid of any mishaps to me.

Fortunately, kindhearted Principal Gail Cooper says they’ll still allow students to wear boots to school (since it’s, you know, winter) though the habitual line-steppers will be forced to remove the offending footwear prior to attending class. No word on whether the school has figured out how to handle the now-shoeless minors who pose a health/safety risk and have probably already moved Siri to their hoodie pocket.

In any case, the new policy goes into effect Monday and is already attracting a number of parent complaints, ranging from threatened litigation to the equally effective (and perhaps more appropriate), ”Lol this is unreal.” Well put, parents of Pottstown; well put.

    Now-shoeless minors. Nice work.

Why would you be allowed to have a cell phone in school anyway?
