48 SEPTA Workers Win $172M Powerball Jackpot

SEPTA will most likely have 50 new job openings to fill, now that a large group of its workers have become overnight millionaires.

NBC10.com reports that approximately 48 SEPTA employees pooled their money together and hit the Powerball jackpot for $172.2 million. The ticket was purchased at the newsstand inside The Gallery.

While some of you are probably busy setting your losing tickets on fire in a frenzy of bitter rage, we’re urging you to look on the bright side: this could be a nice little boost in the Philadelphia job market.
