New Jersey tanning enthusiast Patricia Krentcil has been arrested and charged with Second Degree Child Endangerment for allegedly taking her six-year-old-daughter to a tanning booth. CBS 3 reports that Krentcil’s daughter, Anna, told her school nurse that her badly sunburned skin was from “going tanning with mommy.”
In what is one of the most obvious statements in the history of YouTube, the leather-faced mother recently told CBS, “I find nothing wrong with tanning. To each his own. I like to tan.” She maintains that her red haired, fair skinned daughter obtained her burn from playing outside without sun block. Riiiiight.
I think it goes without saying that this incident is indicative of our “Jersey Shore” hype coming home to roost, but what’s more baffling is the fact that Krentcil’s legal representation didn’t even try to get her to reduce her skin tone.
