If mega-millionaire GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney does not seal the election in November, Republicans around the country will most likely look to other candidates for 2016.
Enter the slightly less handsome, yet arguably more amusing character, Chris Christie. The New Jersey Governor, who could still be tapped for Romney’s VP spot, despite his heavy-handed New Jersey ‘tude, recently expressed his aspiration to represent the Republican Party in 2016, if Obama lands the re-election in a few months.
Of course, Christie is supporting the former Massachusetts governor in his race to the White House, but he’s also prepared if Romney’s bid for president fails, stating, “If there’s an opportunity for me to serve in another capacity and I think I have something to add to the mix, I don’t think I’d back away from it.”
It’s hard to tell if Christie will actually get to battle for the national spotlight in four years, since Obama and Romney are currently neck and neck in recent polls. But, if the stars align for the temper-flaring, Springsteen-loving governor, we’re pretty sure that comedians, late night show hosts (and Aroundphilly) will have a fruitful four years.
