Hiram Bingham Express

Lauren Hanat was born in Queens, N.Y. and now is a Philadelphia-area regular. Hanat has fallen in love with long runs, classic rock, scooping ice cream and surfing. She smiles every time she hears a Billy Joel song and cries when watching Forest Gump.

It’s an early Tuesday afternoon and you and your co-workers are craving a deliciously filling lunch for an equally appeasing price (especially given you all went out the weekend before and spent a good deal of your paycheck on St. Germain cocktails at Alfa). Chifa has revolutionized the act of the business lunch with a new menu to satisfy both the palate and the wallet. The Hiram Bingham Express menu at Chifa Resturant offers an exceptional fusion of Latin and Asian flavors, priced respectively at $18.

Open for lunch between 11:30am and 2:30pm during the work week, Chifa is an exotic escape from the office clutter (sans kitschy Bahama Breeze knickknacks). Indulge in a business lunch with everything from edamame salad with tomato and cheese, to the colorful seafood chowder. With 17 course options and three sides, the Hiram Bingham Express menu has the range and variety to satisfy any appetite. The $18 lunch includes a non-alcoholic beverage, but with Chifa's extensive beer, wine and cocktail we're guessing you're going to sneak in a Lemongrass Pisco Sour. For the grand finale, the Hiram Bingham Express menu offers both a passion fruit, coconut sorbet and a mouth-watering hazelnut brittle atop sweet ice cream for dessert, both priced at $8.

P.S.: Because New Yorkers only want to stop over in Philly for less than 2 days because they think we are dirty and/or dangerous, NYTimes is sharing their 36-hour guide to Philly. And they also recommend Chifa! One more reason we are just like the New York Times editors.
