Old City Stroll and Sidewalk Sale
That part about strolling? That actually means shopping since nearly every retailer in the O.C. from galleries to gift shops are putting their very best goods on the pavement for this neighborhood-wide event. Shop the fashionable finds of Lost + Found, Three Sirens, and Top Stitch as well as fun stuff for your pad from Foster’s and the Classic Lighting Emporium. Complimentary refreshments will be served at most locations but that’s no reason to skip a cold drink from Alex’s Lemonade Stand. Live music will be performed street-side throughout the afternoon.

2008 Philadelphia Book Festival
Straight from the entertainment tabloids to our fair city, Barbra Walters--and her scandalous new autobiography--headlines the second annual Philadelphia Book Festival. But we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention the more than 60 other top writers including Gregory Maguire, Bernadette Peters and Jennifer Weiner to enjoy during readings, panel discussions, and author signings. The literary fun also includes the two-day Book Festival Street Fair for buying and browsing.

6th Annual Yoga Unites for Living Beyond Breast Cancer
As Yoga Unites slowly nears its decade-old milestone, this signature Philadelphia event remains peerless for its way of giving back. More than 500 breast cancer survivors and supporters are expected to unroll their mats on the steps of the Art Museum for a basic yoga class led by Jennifer Schelter, master teacher and executive director of Yoga Schelter Studio in East Falls and the co-founder of Y.U.L.B.B.C. After the hour-long session, explore the Healthy Living Expo for wholesome snacks, natural cosmetics, and info about area yoga and fitness studios.

First-Ever Bierfeesten
Belgian beer is a favorite among Philadelphians and Monk’s, Eulogy, St. Stephen’s Green, and the Abbaye have got the beer lists to prove it. And really, what isn’t there to love about this small European nation’s variety of flavored beers and brewing styles. Sample the country’s best when more than three dozen featured breweries exhibit their beers at World Café Live’s Bierfeesten. Exec chef Matthew Babbage is whipping up complementary bites, including Belgian fries, Flemish Red steamed mussels, braised short ribs and more.
